Aisha Movie Review
by kdisking on Aug.06, 2010, under Movie Review
Director: Rajshree Ojha
Cast: Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol, Amrita Puri, Ira Dubey
Movie Review:
In a late line from the film, Aisha Kapoor’s father tells her, “ Hum Kapoor hai. Hum zyada sochte nahi. We believe in action ”. This pretty much qualifies as an (unintentional) self-mocking line on producer Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor and actress Sonam Kapoor. Perhaps the Kapoors put this picture into production without much pondering. What starts as a cheerful chick flick sadly ends up being a lame love story.

Khatta Meetha Movie Review
by kdisking on Jul.23, 2010, under Movie Review
Director: Priyadarshan
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Trisha
This film has a common man as its protagonist and talks about the corruption he resorts to, to adapt to a bureaucracy, which he believes he can’t change single-handedly. Pretty much like talented filmmaker Priyadarshan who gave us rare gems like Kaala Paani and Kanchivaram but has more often served us coal-tar cinema by acclimatizing himself to the tastelessness of Bollywood bureaucracy. And then he calls it Khatta Meetha .

Movie I Hate Love Storys
by admin on Jul.01, 2010, under Bollywood, Movie Review
I Hate Luv Storys, is simple and terribly conventional. Imran and Sonam do begin on the we-hate-each-other note, with Imran squirming at any and everything that’s filmy while Sonam swears by it all: pink teddys, bunches of blooms, candle-light dinners, Karan Johar films, cuddly Cupid’s bows, shooting stars, soppy dialogues and all that made-for-each-other mush. But we all know the way the wind blows, from the word go. Mush shall rule, and how! For all the digs that producer Karan Johar allows on himself (filmmaker Samir Soni is actually a spoof on KJo), we know the film’s going to end up reiterating KJo — and all he translates into onscreen — as king.
